Classical Latin
This is the web page for the Classical Latin MUC (Multi-User Chat) at classicallatin@conference.jaim.at. Latin students of all skill levels are welcome.
Every Latin student should know about the Perseus Project Latin Lexicon, and the Notre Dame Latin dictionary and grammer aid.
While we don't have any formal classes planned for the chat room, many of us are studying from the following books:
Conversational Latin is exactly what the title suggests -- a guide to conversing in classical Latin. If you are primarily used to reading and writing Latin, and need an introduction to conversation, or if you learn best by jumping in in real time, this is the book for you.
Wheelock's Latin has been known for generations as a solid, trustworthy basic Latin course. If you are new to Latin, or very rusty, this will help you lay the foundation you need.
The majority of the Classical Latin MUC regulars seem to be using and discussing this text.
If you are shopping for Latin books, please consider clicking the book images above to purchase from Amazon.com. Purchases made through these links help support the Classical Latin MUC.
Looking for something else? Find it on Amazon using the search box to the right; you pay the same price no matter how you get to Amazon, and when you get there from this page, part of your purchase goes to support the Classical Latin chat.
